BLUE RIDGE BABYSITTING CO.

Terms & Conditions of Service

Effective Date: 2026
Operated by Balia Referral Agency LLC d/b/a Blue Ridge Babysitting Co.
Serving Pennsylvania & Tennessee

By booking childcare services with Blue Ridge Babysitting Co. (“Agency”), the Client agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Services Provided

Blue Ridge Babysitting Co. provides short-term, session-based childcare services through W-2 employed, background-checked caregivers (“Sitters” or “Scouts”).

Services may take place in private homes, hotels, short-term rentals, neighborhood amenities, or Agency-approved locations.

The Agency retains sole discretion over sitter assignment, staffing levels, safety determinations, and continuation or termination of services.

2. App & Communication Policy (Required)

All bookings, communication, updates, and session management must occur through the Agency’s official app or secure browser login.

Clients agree to:

• Download and log into the Blue Harbor & Ridge Babysitter App prior to their session
• Maintain active push notifications
• Communicate with Scouts exclusively through the app or Agency system

Personal phone numbers are not exchanged.

Failure to maintain communication through the official system may result in service interruption or account review.

3. Booking & Payment

No payment is processed until a sitter is assigned.

Once a session is confirmed, payment is charged in full to Blue Ridge Babysitting Co.

Families do not pay sitters separately.

All billing is processed through the Agency’s secure system.

4. Booking Timelines & Rush Fees

Sessions typically require at least 72 hours’ notice.

Requests made with 48 hours or less notice are considered rush bookings.

• A non-refundable Rush Fee applies.
• Rush bookings are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Because our caregivers are W-2 employees who reserve time and are scheduled for paid shifts, cancellation fees are based on how many hours before the session start time a booking is cancelled.

Client-Initiated Cancellations

0–72 hours before start time:
No refund

73–168 hours (3–7 days):
25% refund

169–336 hours (8–14 days):
50% refund

337+ hours (15+ days):
75% refund

Rush fees are always non-refundable.

Once a sitter has been scheduled and payroll commitments are made, the session is considered earned.

6. Sitter Cancellations

If a sitter is unable to work a confirmed session due to illness or emergency:

• The Agency will make reasonable efforts to provide a qualified replacement.
• If a replacement is available, the session proceeds as scheduled.
• If no replacement is available, the Client will receive a full session credit for future use.

Credits:

• Have no cash value
• Are non-refundable
• Must be used within the Agency’s stated timeframe

7. Session Length, Late Returns & Overage Fees

Maximum session length is 10 hours.
Split shifts are required beyond 10 hours.

Clients must return at their scheduled end time.

If a Client returns after the scheduled end time, additional care is billed at:

$40 per hour, charged in 15-minute increments.

Billing begins immediately at the scheduled end time and is automatically charged to the card on file.

Fees reflect payroll, staffing, and administrative costs caused by unscheduled extensions.

Failure to communicate delays through the app may impact future booking privileges.

8. Illness & Medical Policy

Care cannot be provided if a child has experienced fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or a known contagious illness within the past 24 hours.

If illness is discovered during a session or was not disclosed in advance, the Scout may end the session immediately. No refunds or credits will be issued.

Medication may be administered only with written authorization and in original packaging.

9. Safety, Home Environment & Pool Supervision

Clients must provide a safe childcare environment and disclose:

• Pets
• Cameras or recording devices
• Hazards or weapons
• Additional adults or children present

If the environment is unsafe or disclosures are incomplete, the Scout may end the session immediately. No refunds or credits will be issued.

Pool & Water Supervision

Scouts may supervise children at private or community pools under the following conditions:

• Parents must disclose each child’s swimming ability
• All posted pool rules must be followed
• Lifeguards must be present where required
• Non-swimmers must use parent-approved flotation devices

Scouts are not lifeguards and are not responsible for mechanical pool issues, unsafe conditions, or HOA/community rule enforcement.

Water activities may be restricted at the Scout’s discretion for safety reasons.

10. Transportation & Outings

Sitters do not transport children.
Sitters do not ride in Client vehicles.

Walking to nearby parks or activities is permitted only with prior written approval through the Agency system.

Unauthorized transportation or location changes constitute a material breach of these Terms.

11. Off-Platform Care Prohibited

All childcare must be booked and communicated through Blue Ridge Babysitting Co.

Clients may not solicit, hire, or engage sitters outside the Agency platform.

Violations may result in:

• Immediate account termination
• Liquidated damages
• Additional administrative fees

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Agency is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

The Agency’s maximum liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the applicable session.

13. Governing Law

Pennsylvania law applies to services performed in Pennsylvania.
Tennessee law applies to services performed in Tennessee.

Multi-state disputes fall under Pennsylvania jurisdiction.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a Scout Session, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
