Terms & Conditions of Service

Serving Pennsylvania & Tennessee
By booking childcare services with Blue Ridge Babysitting Co. (“Agency”), the Client agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Services Provided
Blue Ridge Babysitting Co. provides short-term, session-based childcare services through W-2 employed, background-checked caregivers (“Sitters” or “Scouts”).
Services may take place in private homes, hotels, short-term rentals, neighborhood amenities, or Agency-approved locations.
The Agency retains sole discretion over sitter assignment, staffing levels, safety determinations, and continuation or termination of services.
2. App & Communication Policy (Required)
All bookings, communication, updates, and session management must occur through the Agency’s official app or secure browser login.
Clients agree to:

Download and log into the Blue Harbor & Ridge Babysitter App prior to their session

Maintain active push notifications
-
Communicate with Scouts exclusively through the app or Agency system
Personal phone numbers are not exchanged.
Failure to maintain communication through the official system may result in service interruption or account review.
3. Booking & Payment
No payment is processed until a sitter is assigned.
Once a session is confirmed, payment is charged in full to the Agency and the Caregiver’s time is reserved.
Families do not pay sitters separately. All billing is processed through the Agency.
4. Booking Timelines & Rush Fees
We strongly recommend booking in advance, especially for weekends, holidays, and events.
Requests made within 24 hours are considered rush bookings:

A non-refundable rush fee applies

Availability is not guaranteed
5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Once a Caregiver has been assigned, the following refund schedule applies:

Less than 72 hours before your session: 100% of the booking total is due

3–14 days before your session: 75% of the booking total is due
-
15+ days before your session: 25% administrative fee applies

Rush fees are always non-refundable.
Shortened sessions, early returns, or unused time do not reduce the cost.
If the Agency is unable to fulfill a confirmed booking and cannot provide a suitable replacement, a full refund will be issued.
6. Recurring Care & Membership
Recurring care refers to ongoing, pre-scheduled sessions. Reserved hours are guaranteed and billed.
Trail & Tide Membership is an optional monthly program that provides discounted session rates and priority booking.

Membership does not guarantee availability

Membership does not override cancellation policies

Membership is separate from recurring care commitments
7. Session Length, Late Returns & Overage Fees
Clients must return at their scheduled end time.
Late returns are billed at:
$40/hour in 15-minute increments
Charges begin immediately at the scheduled end time and are automatically billed.
8. Illness Policy
Care cannot be provided if a child has had:

Fever
-
Vomiting
-
Diarrhea
-
Contagious illness within 24 hours
If illness is undisclosed or arises during care, the session may end immediately with no refund.
9. Safety, Environment & Disclosures
Clients must disclose:

Medical needs, allergies, behavioral concerns
-
Pets in the home
-
Additional adults present
-
Cameras or recording devices
Unsafe or undisclosed conditions may result in immediate termination of care without refund.
10. Transportation & Movement
Caregivers do not:
-
Drive children
-
Ride in vehicles with families
Any movement (including walking to nearby locations) must be pre-approved through the Agency.
11. Activities, Events & Adventure Care
Adventure care may include outings such as:

Boardwalks
-
Amusement parks
-
Shopping areas
All related expenses (tickets, food, parking, etc.) are the Client’s responsibility and must be provided in advance.
For events or long sessions:

Families must provide a meal for the Caregiver
For beach or outdoor care:
-
Families must provide safe conditions for children
-
Caregivers may bring their own personal supplies
12. Hotel, Rental & Meeting Policy

Hotels: Caregivers meet in the lobby. Room number must be provided in advance.

Airbnbs / Rentals / Homes: Caregivers meet outside or at the entrance
Clients must be present and accessible at the scheduled start time.
The Agency reserves the right to review and decline any location deemed unsafe.
13. Pet Policy
All pets must be disclosed.
Pets must be non-aggressive and safely contained.
Caregivers may assist minimally (letting out or feeding), but childcare remains the priority.
14. Behavioral Safety
Aggressive or unsafe behavior must be disclosed.
If a child’s behavior poses a safety risk, services may end immediately without refund.
15. Platform Use & Off-Platform Restrictions
All services must remain within the Agency.
Clients may not:

Exchange personal contact information
-
Hire or solicit Caregivers outside the Agency
Violations may result in:
-
Account termination
-
Fees and enforcement actions
16. Care Model & Staffing
We operate a team-based model.
A specific Caregiver is not guaranteed, and bookings may not be canceled due to sitter preference.
17. Termination of Services
The Agency reserves the right to terminate services immediately without refund due to:

Safety concerns
-
Policy violations
-
Inappropriate or abusive behavior
18. Force Majeure & Weather
The Agency is not responsible for delays or cancellations due to:
-
Weather events
-
Natural disasters
-
Travel disruptions
-
Circumstances beyond our control
Standard cancellation terms apply.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
The Agency is not responsible for:
-
Injuries not caused by Caregiver negligence
-
Damage to property
-
Actions of third parties
-
Undisclosed conditions
Liability is limited to the amount paid for the session.
20. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of:
-
Pennsylvania (PA services)
-
Tennessee (TN services)
21. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a session, the Client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
